When I began this blog in 2009, I did so with all the wrong intentions. I had just begun regularly doing my own nails, and was more interested in getting free stuff than I was in letting people into my life. When I didn't get 100 comments on my first post, I got tired of blogging pretty fast (and actually forgot about this blog until now!)
Since the summer of 2009, my life has actually changed quite a bit. At the end of the summer, I enrolled in several courses related to the beauty industry and received several certificates including Licensed Nail Technician, Pedicurist, Waxer and Eyelash/brow tinter. I did this all while working hard in University, on the road to becoming a Speech Pathologist. Again, boy have things changed!
I am still in University, but am currently working towards my Bachelor of Arts Degree with the hopes of getting my Primary/Elementary Education Degree very soon. I am also still a Licensed Nail Technician (as well as everything else), and nail art is still my passion (though I am also in the early stages of becoming a makeup junkie).
I hope to update this blog much more frequently than I did before, I think a 2 year break is a little much. As a Nail Technician, I get the opportunity to try out tons of products, and I have learned a few tips and tricks for the at-home nail artist to replicate awesome salon styles on a budget. I will be sharing these tips with all of you in the very near future.
Happy Nail-ing!

My New Love
I really have no idea how many manicures I've ruined by using a top coat too early, or smudging everything by going to slowly. For a while, I stopped using top coat completely, only to find my poor mani chipped a day or two later. Thankfully, I have found a miracle! Sally Hansen Insta-Dry top coat is perfect for me in every way. It has a thick consistency, so it didn't smudge my mani. Also, because of the big brush, I didn't have to worry about painting over the same spot twice, again, causing smudging. I think the icing on my cake though, was the very short drying time. I hate putting on a top coat and then waiting 30 minutes for it to set and harden nicely, with Sally Hansen's top coat, it takes about a minute or two and everything's nice and protected, therefore, no dented nails! Top coat from heaven!
I would definitely recommend this top coat, and for about $4-5 at most drugstores, how can you go wrong?

First attempts at Konadicures
I reviewed my Konad stamping kit about 2 weeks ago, and have been playing around with it ever since. I finally managed to do a couple of konadicures without messing them up. The first was a zebra print pattern. I used Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Blue Shock, Konad special polish in Green and Revlon polish in Silver. I really loved this one, but I didn't take a picture of it the first night that I did it. I was tired and went to bed, so it got all wrinkly! But anyway, here are the pictures:
My dad and I did the next Konadicure for the Salmon Festival in Grand Falls (which is a music festival). This is the best one I've had so far. We used Revlon Polish in Silver and Konad special Polish in Black. I was very careful and didn't smudge this one, so it looks quite nice in the pictures.
(As an unrelated note, I am an Avon Representative. If any of you would like to buy some awesome Avon products, you can do so at www.avon.ca, just put in my phone number (709-482-2122) in the Representative Information section of the order form)
Finally, I removed my acrylic nails last week, and my natural nails are quite weak now. I have been using Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps on them, but have had trouble with it bubbling under my polish. I was wondering if there are any press on (or glue-on) false nails that work well under polish. If anyone knows, please leave me a tip in the comments.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Post Number One!
For quite some time now, I've been wanting to start my own blog about my two favorite things: nail polish, and photography. Now that summer has come, I finally have time to start!
I guess I should start with a little introduction. My name is Megan, and I'm a 2nd year university student who eventually wants to do speech pathology. I have a crazy slight obsession with nail art. I love music, especially singing and playing the guitar. I'm living in Newfoundland, Canada, and proud of it! Recently, I discovered the Konad nail stamping system, and boy is it awesome! I've only had it for about 4 days, but I've done everyone's nails that I can get my hands on (including my boyfriend and dad, begrudgingly of course!)
That's about all I can think of for now. Hopefully my posts in the future will be a bit more interesting!
Best wishes!
